HAIR STYLIST PROGRAM

A 600-hour hairstylist program is required to obtain a hairstylist license in California. The program prepares students for the California State Board Examination and allows them to perform a variety of hairstyling services. 

The 600-hour HAIRSTYLIST license will allow an individual to perform hair cutting, hairstyling, arranging, blow drying, cleansing, curling, cutting, dressing, extending, hair analysis, shampooing, waving, nonchemical straightening , including the use of shears, razors, electrical clippers and trimmers, and thinning shears for wet and dry cutting.

The following is covered in the 600 hour Hairstyling program:

•INFECTION CONTROL: Principles & Practices. Understand current Regulations for Health and Safety
•HAIR CARE: Principles of Hair Design
•SCALP CARE, SHAMPOOING, and CONDITIONING
•HAIRCUTTING: Understand the basic principles of Haircutting. Proper use of Haircutting tools
•HAIRSTYLING: Learn the basics of wet hairstyling, blow-dry styling, thermal hair straightening, etc.
•BRAIDING: Understand the basics of braiding
•WIGS & HAIR ADDITIONS: Study the world of Hair Extensions
•PREPARING for LICENSURE & EMPLOYMENT
•THE SALON BUSINESS

ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS
1. High School Diploma or GED
2. Valid Photo ID
3. Valid Social Security Card
4. Deposit (check cash or credit card)

Class schedule:     DAY class  Monday 11am – 2 pm
                                                 Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 10:15am – 4:45 pm
                                                 Graduation in 28.5 weeks/ 6.6 months

                              EVENING class:  Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 5:15 pm – 10 pm
                             Graduation in 40 weeks / 9.7 months
